Internationalization accelerates through DAAD funding project "InterAct!"

Internationalization is a central goal of Ostfalia's future strategy until 2030. So it is all the more gratifying that the university has prevailed with its project application "InterAct! - International Activities" in the nationwide HAW.International funding program of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The project has now been launched and is intended to further the internationalization of the university over the next two years and contribute to an improved international presence at the level of research and teaching as well as administration and organization, with the involvement of partner organizations. The project is implemented by a joint team of the International Relations Office and Knowledge and Technology Transfer. Therefore, there is also a close cooperation with the FH-Europa projects " TOOL - Development of a toolbox for science communication in EU research proposals and projects" and " weR-NEAR - Expansion of the regional network for joint activities and research in the European area with the Harz University of Applied Sciences".

One of the key measures of the "InterAct!" project is the efficient design and expansion of existing qualification offers for staff and student mobilities, whereby intercultural, practical and professional competencies are acquired. An optimized communication strategy with modern content and appealing channels strengthens the international presence and promotes an increased exchange with international universities, so that cooperations with international partners can also be consolidated and expanded in the long term. Ultimately, this should also facilitate the acquisition of collaborative projects at the international level and lead to an increased volume of cooperative projects. Thus, internationalization measures as well as inter- and transdisciplinary activities will be implemented across faculties and synergies and competencies will be used in a goal-oriented manner. Of particular interest is the expansion of cooperation on an international level with universities in Portugal and Finland as well as in the USA, China and South Africa.
