Digital Technologies
THE JOINT STUDY PROGRAM OF OSTFALIA UNIVERSITY AND TU CLAUSTHAL
For those looking for a computer science degree with a high level of application relevance, the DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES bachelor's and master's degree program is just right. The joint study program of Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences and TU Clausthal is characterized by its innovative mix of the subjects of computer science, the interdisciplinary digitization projects and the six fields of applications (Autonomous Systems, Circular Economy & Environmental Technology, Digital Transformation, Energy, Industry 4.0, Mobility) in equal parts. The topics of digitization and sustainability play a central role here.
On the Ostfalia side, the faculties of Electrical Engineering, Karl-Scharfenberg, Mechanical
Engineering and Supply Engineering are involved in the application areas, in addition to the
Faculty of Computer Science. On the TU Clausthal side, the faculties of Mathematics/Computer
Science and Mechanical Engineering as well as Energy and Economics are involved. The
interdisciplinary digitization projects form the core of the DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES study program. In
them, small teams of bachelor's and master's students from different semesters work together on
practical issues related to digitization and test their knowledge from the subjects of computer
science and the fields of applications. The questions in the digitization projects are sometimes
also formulated with partner companies. These companies supervise the project teams together with
teachers from the study program, which means that initial networking between students and their
potential employers already takes place here.
The best comes at the end: The evaluation of the project work replaces two exams of a
traditional study program! In addition, students receive university and college degrees after
successfully completing their studies. This means that all doors are open to them for a career in
business as well as in academia.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE
The application-oriented and interdisciplinary bachelor's degree program DIGITAL
TECHNOLOGIES imparts competencies for successful digitization in industry, research and
administration, which often takes place at the transition from computer science to the application
field. The foundation of the study program are the subjects of computer science. In addition,
students choose their individual fields of applications as early as the second semester, thus
setting their professional focus. The first year of study takes place with its courses at the
Goslar location. Subsequently, depending on the chosen field of application, the studies also take
place at the other study locations Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Salzgitter or Wolfenbüttel.

MASTER OF SCIENCE
The application-oriented and interdisciplinary master's program DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES is
characterized by the unique combination of the subjects of computer science, the six exciting
fields of applications as well as the interdisciplinary digitization projects. Due to this
combination within the four-semester study program, you will become an expert in digitization, its
technologies and in digital transformation.
