Beating a robot in tic-tac-toe, generating energy with a bicycle, chatting with the
voice-controlled robot ‘Robbi’ or experiencing how scenarios of rising sea levels affect the risk
of flooding and high tides on the coast - Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences and Arts is
offering all this and much more at this year's IdeenExpo. Ostfalia will be presenting itself at the
IdeenExpo, which takes place from the 8th to 16th of June 2024 in Hanover, with a cross-faculty
exhibition stand covering around 500 m². The following faculties will be represented: Faculty of
Civil and Enviornmental Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology,
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Computer Science, Faculty of Supply Engineering and
Faculty of Transport-Sport-Tourism-Media. Central institutions such as Knowledge and Technology
Transfer and the Central Student Advisory Service will also be present at the Ostfalia stand.
"The focus of the exhibits is on the areas of energy and sustainability. The hands-on
activities on autonomous driving or the use of intelligent robotics, which can be experienced with
the help of virtual reality, are particularly noteworthy", says Julia Mehring, project coordinator
of Ostfalia's presence at the IdeenExpo. "The faculties also offer exciting insights into the
topics of renewable energies and integrated water and soil protection."
The IdeenExpo will take place in Hanover from 8 to 16 June 2024 and offers young people and
interested parties from all over Germany the opportunity to experience science and research up
close. The Ostfalia will offer numerous exhibits, real-world laboratories and workshops for active
participation. The Ostfalia can be found at the exhibition centre in Hall 7, in the EnergyField and
DigitalWorlds areas.
