Research Data Management
Ostfalia University is part of the federal initiative for research data management Lower Saxony and a partner in the development of research data management for universities of applied sciences in Lower Saxony
The aim of the project is to promote the development and expansion of a suitable and efficient research data management system at the participating universities in Lower Saxony.
As part of the projects, the methods and standards required for RDM are to be identified, taking into account the specific conditions of universities and specialised disciplines. Based on this, knowledge transfer programmes for researchers will then be designed.
A strong focus is placed on consulting, training and support for researchers and students through centralised structures and services.
At the network centre, the relevant expertise is compiled, processed and made available to all universities in the project network. Positions for so-called data stewards will be set up at the individual universities, who will be supported by this centre. The Knowledge and Technology Transfer and the Ostfalia Library will take on this task together from 01.07.2024, so that researchers will have contact persons for all questions relating to RDM at the university. Particular emphasis will be placed on mutual exchange to generate customised and subject-specific offers.
