Offers for Incoming Students

International Student Office (ISO)

A decision to study abroad requires the greatest possible support. Therefore our International Student Office not only provides services for students planning to study for a semester or longer at a university outside Germany, but also provides services for the international students studying at Ostfalia.

The ISO is at your disposal to answer questions during the entire semester and offers a full range of support services for foreign students including the facilitation of university enrollment and temporary residence permit application procedures. Moreover, it provides a two-week orientation programme, organizes excursions, tries to help students with their apartment search and, when needed, handles arrangements for a pick up service.

University Guides

Our student University Guides are mentors who are always happy to offer their help and advice to international students planning to graduate at Ostfalia.

Ostfalia Card

Our Ostfalia Card – a student ID card and semester ticket for local public transport – provides a wide range of benefits to students. It‘s a method of payment at our photocopying facilities, opens doors to the computer labs and also serves as the library card.

Foreign Languages

The Centre of Modern Languages provides foreign language training at each of Ostfalia‘s four campuses. The overall portfolio consists of twelve different languages. Most of them are also offered from the beginner‘s stage. Furthermore, students have the opportunity to learn languages during the semester break by attending intensive classes or field trips. The Centre of Modern Languages also provides non-German students with a GFL (German as a Foreign Language) summer course and with courses during the semester.

Learning Coaches

All students have the opportunity to receive support by our learning coaches. These coaches help students to work independently and to successfully complete their studies. They give advice regarding many issues pertaining to studies and student life, for instance exam anxiety, time management or any other crises that might arise during the semester programme. Furthermore there are workshops and seminars offered, where students can find out more about new learning methods and relaxing exercises. This consulting service is confidential and optional and is an offer to improve your skills.

Career Service

Our Career Service supports students throughout their studies. In addition to skill improving methods, the career service fosters “self-marketing” techniques through different educational offers at the university. Specifically, it focuses on helping students to present themselves effectively to potential employers. Students are supported in their educational planning as well as their entrance into the business world. The Career Service also arranges contacts between our graduates and prospective employers in search of new qualified staff.
