International Conference for Sustainable Globalization (ICSG) February 2020 in Kochi, India
The three-day ICSG conference was first launched in 2018 together with colleagues from the
Ostfalia partner universities University of Wisconsin at Parkside (UWP, Prof. Dr. A. Kuruvilla),
Mahatma Gandhi Univ., Kochi, (MGU, Prof. Dr. R. Jacob) together with Ostfalia University (Dr. H.
Sander). The meeting is organized annually by the International Association for Sustainable
Globalization since 2018, of which Ostfalia is a founding member via board member Dr. Sander from
the Faculty of Supply Engineering, Ostfalia University.
Sessions on higher education, IT, tourism and economic issues as well as risk management are
offered under the overall topic of the UN SDG (Sustainable Development Goals). The sessions are
open to representatives from science and research, business, politics and administration in an
interdisciplinary approach, which is the special feature of the conference. At this year's
conference, the 2020 ACEEU Asia-Pacific Triple E University Awards for Entrepreneurship and
Engagement in Higher Education were hosted by the conference to be awarded to representatives from
Asian-Pacific Universities.
Dr. Sander is a member of the organizing committee of the ISCG from the very beginning and
Chair of Review Committee of the ICSG. In January 2020 she again moderated some of the conference
meetings on the topic of "Sustainability". In addition, a presentation from the Faculty of Supply
Engineering on "HAB and Lake Management under Climate Change Conditions in an Applied Study on Lake
Utah Data Sets and HAB Prediction; by Sander, H., Skalbeck, J., and Kügow, F." was presented for
the annual conference proceedings. At the same time, the online master course of study "Risk
Management and Sustainability" offered in English at Ostfalia University, by the Centre of Risk
Management and Sustainability, was presented to international students interested in an
exchange.

Digital Lower Saxony - Opportunities | Risks | Sustainability
Under the patronage of Stefan Muhle - State Secretary in the Ministry of Economics, Labour, Transport and Digitisation of Lower Saxony - the ZWIRN - Centre for Scientific, Interdisciplinary Risk Management and Sustainability organised the symposium "Digital Lower Saxony - Opportunities | Risks | Sustainability" at the beginning of February 2019 at Warberg Castle.
About 50 participants from science and economy met on February 8th 2019 at Warberg Castle to discuss the digital future of Lower Saxony.
