With us you have the possibility to complete the Electrical Engineering and Information Technology also as a cooperative degree program. The degree course “Electrical Engineering and Information Technology with Practical Experience” is offered in cooperation with industrial companies from the region. The two practice phases, that regularly take place in the third and sixth semester, are an integral part of the degree course.
In the first option (career-integrated dual course of study) students complete an additional industrial apprenticeship with a cooperating company and acquire an industrial trade. The final for the industrial trade is
In the Second option (practice-integrated dual course of study) students complete extensive practice phases with cooperating companies. There is no obligation to attend a vocational school and also no qualification as a skilled tradesman. A practical semester can also be replaced with shared practice phases, with a total length of eighteen weeks in a cooperating company.
The study discipline Automation covers the key fields of Control Systems and Automation Engineering, and is centered around process and factory automation. The study discipline Electric Mobility and Energy Systems conveys professional knowledge concerning both conventional and renewable methods of power production and makes students familiar with intelligent systems of energy distribution and use. The study discipline Information Technology analyses all fundamental topics of telecommunications like the conditioning, processing and analysis of information and its descriptive signal.

Im Studiengang „Elektro- und Informationstechnik“ haben die Studierenden in Absprache mit Kooperationsunternehmen die Wahl zwischen den drei Studienrichtungen. Die Wahl für die Studienrichtung erfolgt mit dem Beginn des Hauptstudiums im 4. Semester (Regelstudienzeit).

Foundation
The basic studies stretch over the first three theoretical semesters as well as a
vocational training semester. The content is mostly the same as the faculty’s other Bachelor degree
courses.
Main Study
The study discipline in the main studies are to be chosen by you, in agreement with
your company. In the foundation, and even more so in the main study, you will experience
development projects and project groups, and integrate yourself in the same way in the working
world. The skilled tradesman qualification test is scheduled after the sixth semester (second
practice phase) at the responsible Chamber of Industry and Commerce; only for the first study
option with career-integrated dual course of study. The bachelor thesis is scheduled in the ninth
semester. You have the choice to write the thesis either with Ostfalia, or with your cooperating
company.
