"Current Issues of Business Law" - block seminar of Master's course in Finance, Tax, and Company Law

On June 6th and 7th, 2024, the Brunswick European Law School (BELS) at Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences hosted a block seminar for the Master's course in Finance, Tax, and Company Law. The lecture titled "Current Issues of Business Law" was led by Prof. Dr. Fabian Stancke, supported by research associate Luina Hertwich, LL.M.

During this seminar, students presented on the following contemporary topics:

  • Digital Markets Act (DMA)
  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and its global impacts
  • AI, data protection, and ethical considerations
  • Data privacy and social media
  • Cybersecurity laws and regulations
  • Legal aspects of big data and data analytics
  • Data security in the cloud

We were particularly pleased to welcome our guest lecturers, who enriched the seminar with their expertise and international perspectives:

  • Luca Brunoni, Lecturer and researcher at Institut de lutte contre la criminalité économique, Université Neuchâtel, on "Law, AI, and hallucinations"
  • Dr. Rupal Rautdesai, Symbiosis Law School, Pune, India, on "Patient's Rights and Data Protection"
  • Dr. Atmaram Shelke, Symbiosis Law School, Pune, India, on "Comparative study of EU GDPR and Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDPA)"
