As part of the DAAD project "Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals– a comparative approach in India, Nepal and Germany (ING)" project at Brunswick European Law School (BELS) 4 students from Kathmandu University – School of Law in Nepal and 3 students from Symbiosis Law School in Pune, India are currently exchange students at the faculty's International Business and Law semester (ILBS).
With the focus to create synergies on several levels between Indian, Nepalese and German students Prof. Dr. Olaf Schlotmann conducted an excursion from 30.10.-01.11.2024 in his course "Navigating Financial Markets and Institutions – A (European) Perspective on the evolution of a more sustainable monetary system".
The international spirit of the group proved to be palpable throughout the excursion. The inspiring and insightful presentations from experts at Moody's, Allianz Global Investors, the European Central Bank (ECB), the Geldmuseum (Money Museum) and at the Deutsche Bundesbank (German Central Bank) on current topics such as sustainable finance, SDGs, Degrowth, ESG Investing, cryptocurrencies and unconventional or green monetary policies provided rich grounds for fruitful discussions.
The group debates and discussions continued when cooking together at Prof. Dr. Schlotmann's apartment house and during the presentation of the seminar paper on the final day at US Insurance Prudential, which hosted the seminar room.
