Next Excursion

The next excursion will take place in Brussels in December 2024. The travel period to the MUN Brussels (Belgium) is expected to take place from 10 to 14 December 2024 (conference from 10 to 13 December 2024 + arrival/departure). The co-payment amounts to approx. 300 €. In order to participate in the conference in Brussels, preparation and participation in the elective course "Model UN" is mandatory. The course will take place partly online. The course starts on Wednesday, 2 October at 8am in room 11/005 (Am Exer).

Diplomacy, international relations and knowledge about the United Nations, combined with field trips to New York, Europe or German cities: this is what Brunswick European Law School (BELS) now offers its students again. Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an educational simulation and/or academic activity in which students learn research, public speaking, debating and writing, as well as critical thinking and teamwork in a hands-on way. In the Model UN elective at BELS, you'll get the tools. Position papers will be developed, theses will be written, and strategies will be planned that will later be advocated and enforced at the Model UN conference.

During Model UN, students will first learn about the structure and operation of the United Nations before learning about the basic operations and intentions of the United Nations. Students receive a grade at the end of the elective based on their developed position paper, oral presentation, and participation in a Model UN conference.
