des Forschungsaufenthaltes am Lauterpacht Center for International Law der Universität Cambridge
sprach Prof. Huck am 1.7.2019 über das Thema:
„Claims on Trade and Sustainable Development Chapters in FTAs for Groups and Individuals:
Equilibrating with Fairness”.
Folgende Aspekte wurden behandelt:
- Vertical and horizontal impact of the Global Agenda 2030 and the SDGs in an evolving
multi-layered transnational system
- The Rise of FTAs/RTAs as one pattern of an ongoing globalisation
- Trade and Sustainable Development Chapters in modern FTAs - Characteristics in- and outside the
EU
- Asymmetric procedural rights of individuals and groups affected through trade (and investment
as well)
- Impact of an holistic approach of the SDGs on modern FTAs - or just combining different and
mostly separated layers of labour, environment, human rights and development?
- Main characteristics of third party involvement in existing FTAs/RTAs: USMCA (2018), UK -
Cariforum (2019) and EU-FTAs
- Impediments on the domestic court level arguing on a broader and international level? -
Reconciliation based on SDGs?
- Creating a theoretical approach towards access for individuals and groups to intervene as a
third party
- Preliminary conclusions
