Twenty distinguished BELS delegates and one Faculty Advisor traveled after lenghty preparations to Stockholm Model United Nations Conference (https://www.smun.se/) which took place under the theme "Agenda 2030 - Sustanability, Sovereignty & Security" at Stockholm University in Stockholm. BELS delegates were present and voting in 5 different committees: Human Rights in the digital Age, UNHCR, UN Human Rights Council (Intermediate), Arctic Council and in the Security Council. The topics discussed in the committees were wide-ranging. Among others, Domestic as well as International Rights in the digital Age, the Right to Die on Assisted Suicide, Rohingya people - A Human Rights Perspective, the South China Sea Dispute, the Syrian Civil War, Protection and Sustainable Use of the Arctic Marine Environment and Minority Rights and Educational Opportunities in the Arctic, Ending Statelessness and Protecting the Right to Family Reunification were discussed.
