EU-CARICOM Conference 2018: Present and Future Challenges

We are pleased to announce that the Faculty of Law, University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, Trinidad and Tobago, Brunswick European Law School of Ostfalia University, Germany and Coventry Law School, UK will be hosting the first  EU-CARICOM LAW CONFERENCE 2018 – Present and Future Challenges from September 26th-27th, 2018 at the University Inn and Conference Centre, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago, W.I.

With this announcement we would like to encourage the broadest participation of all interested parties. This conference aims at examining the existing trade and development partnership between CARICOM and the EU as well as outlining several ways on how to proceed in the future. Also, the role and impact of differing legal principles on this partnership will be discussed in order to promote and enhance trade, investment and sustainable development.

Pressing questions of how to manage the existing trade and development partnership between CARICOM and the EU will be discussed. How can differing legal principles provide a framework in order to promote and enhance trade, investment and sustainable development? How can the EU policy: Trade for all be implemented? Is Brexit likely to have an impact and if so, in which ways? The 2018 EU-CARICOM conference will explore the different options of increasing interaction as well as critically analyze the potential threats and opportunities this interaction creates. For this, we are bringing together academics and practitioners from more than three different countries in order to provide them with a forum for an open and fruitful exchange.

Thus, papers are invited in the following areas: 18-01-11-CallforPapers-CaricomEU
