Scope

"Digital Innovations for the Public and Mobility Services" is the motto of the 19 th I4CS, to be held from June 24 till 26, 2019 in Wolfsburg/Germany, dedicated to challenging aspects around modern community systems. Wolfsburg is heart and headquarter of the Volkswagen Group. The city is indisputably the industrial location number one in Lower Saxony and will be an excellent conference host. And do not forget to visit “Automobile City”, Volkswagen’s unique theme and adventure park, which is right next to the factory!
Due to the rapid evolution of web technologies and rich mobile Internet devices, ICT support for communities is possible on the next quality level. In search of innovative solutions, multi-disciplinary collaboration among researchers, service providers and industry partners is essential to invent novel Internet Community Services.
The I4CS is a direct follower of the former “International Conference on Innovative Internet Community Systems” (I2CS).

Submission

Submission

Papers should contain up to 16 pages in the one-column  Springer LNCS/CCIS format including tables, figures, and references. The related LNCS/CCIS Word and Latex Templates are available.

Please use to upload and manage your paper submission to the Easychair conference system.

For the submission in you need to provide information about your contribution (address for correspondence, authors, title, abstract, and keywords). This information can be provided in advance without submitting the full paper itself. We recommend doing so to get an early impression of expected paper. You can update all your information and of course your paper submission at any time as long as the submission is not closed. Please note, you will need to create an EasyChair account if you have not already done so. Your existing account can be reused.

Camera-ready Submission

After the review phase a final version of an accepted paper has to be uploaded to the "Proceedings" section of Easychair, based on the obtained review comments. Papers will only be published if at least one author per paper has registered for the conference and presents the paper.

Evaluation Criteria

Papers will be reviewed regarding the following criteria by at least three TPC members. The overall rating is weighted by the confidence of the reviewers.

  • Accordance to the state of the art
  • Degree of novelty and innovation
  • In the focus of the conference
  • Fitting the style instructions
  • Level of language and presentation

The predicates per criterion cover the following values:

  • strong accept (+3)
  • accept (+2)
  • week accept (+1)
  • borderline (0)
  • week reject (-1)
  • reject (-2)
  • strong reject (-3)

Presentation at the Conference

History

The beginning

Founded as university workshop in 2001 as "Innovative Internet Computing Systems" (I²CS) in Ilmenau by Thomas Böhme and Herwig Unger, the I²CS takes place annually in the third week of June. In 2003 the University of Leipzig joint the consortium.

On the international way

The first event outside of Germany took place in Mexico in 2004. Again, it was Herwig Unger, who made this important step possible. The change in the name from "computing" to "community" reflects perfectly its understanding as a workshop of exchange between people from different countries, from universities, institutes, vendors and industries.

Via France and Switzerland it returned to Germany in 2007. From now on, alternately an international and a German location is selected by the steering committee to arrange the three-days event which has reached the status of an international conference. In 2014 the name of the conference has been changed into "Innovations for Community Services" (I4CS) to emphasize the application focus.
